Deion Sanders, Colorado could be ditching Pac-12 soon enough

It's a new era at Colorado with Deion "Primetime" Sanders at the helm as head coach. There's a ton of hype surrounding the program. Whether or not Colorado will live up to the hype is a discussion on its own, but there's undoubtedly a ton of buzz surrounding the Buffaloes.

So much buzz, in fact, that the Big 12 is reportedly thinking about stealing Colorado away from the Pac-12.

This, according to Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports, who is reporting that Colorado and the Big 12 have had "substantive talks."

"Colorado and the Big 12 have met face-to-face while involved in consistent talks over a period several months, according to multiple sources. It was made clear that a move to the Big 12 would not be made without the support of football coach Deion Sanders," Dodd reported.

That's a ton of power given to a coach who has yet to win a game in Boulder yet, let alone coach in the Power Five, but Colorado has gone all-in on Sanders, so why not go big or go home, right?

It's worth noting that the Big 12 may not have the draw it once did with Oklahoma and Texas leaving for the SEC, but the same can be said about the Pac-12 with USC and UCLA heading to the Big Ten.

The Big 12 did at least add Central Florida, Cincinnati, BYU and Houston — so it's a conference that is expanding rather than shrinking like the Pac-12.

It will be interesting to see if Sanders and the Buffaloes decide to expand alongside the Big 12, especially when there is an opportunity for them to become the "big fish" in the Pac-12.
