Analyst pins Carson Beck as No. 1 overall selection in 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is largely projected to be one of the best -- if not the very best -- player available for the taking in the 2025 NFL Draft. Hence, why he's been pinned as the No. 1 overall pick in multiple mocks this offseason.

There's now another one of those to add to the list, with CBS analyst Chris Trapasso sending Beck to the Carolina Panthers at the top spot next April.

There have been some questions as to whether or not former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young will ultimately be the team's answer at the position, and if they take Beck here, it's safe to say the door is effectively closing on him in Charlotte.

"If the Panthers indeed "earn" the No. 1 overall pick for the third year in a row, it'll likely be because Bryce Young fails in Year 2," Trapasso wrote. "If that's the case, the bigger, stronger-armed Beck will be strongly considered by Carolina with the first selection."

Beck made a huge impression in his first season as the Bulldogs' starter last year, quickly flying up the boards of prospect rankings as he finished out the season with a 72.4% completion rate, 3,941 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and 6 interceptions en rote to becoming an early Heisman Trophy candidate.

How he builds upon that in 2024 as the Bulldogs look to get back to the national title stage after being controversially snubbed from the most recent College Football Playoff will be something to keep an eye on.
