Arch Manning hype continues ahead of 2025 season with NFL Draft analyst praising his blue-chip potential

If you haven't heard about Texas quarterback Arch Manning yet, you will soon.

After being the backup to Quinn Ewers for two years and having about two and a half games of playing time, 2025 is his time to shine in Austin with Steve Sarkisian. A five-star prospect, Manning is the son of Cooper Manning, who is the eldest brother of both Peyton and Eli Manning.

Arch Manning receives high praise from NFL Draft analyst

It's hard to know for sure what Manning is going to be under Sarkisian this year, but it's clear that he's going to have a very friendly system and surroundings to work with. We also have just two and a half games against sub-par competition to know what he looks like at the college level.

Yahoo! Sports' Nate Tice, who played quarterback at Wisconsin, is buying all the Manning hype right now, and wrote an extensive piece on him this week.

I am bullish on how Manning will look this season, which isn’t the craziest statement in the world to say given his recruiting. But my optimism is coming from what he showed on the field last season as opposed to any previous accolades or namesake. It’s very early (remember, 90 pass attempts last year!), but as Manning gets more and more playing time under his belt under Sarkisian, keeps learning from mistakes, and those early-game blemishes become even more infrequent, Manning is a real-deal blue-chip prospect with the size, traits and play style to be a difference-maker and franchise leader for whatever NFL team selects him.

It might be two years until we finally hear his name selected. But until then: Buy the hype.

Tice is buying all the stock on Manning, but it's important to understand the caveats with where his stock is. The lack of sample size makes it really hard to know for sure if he's going to be that guy or not. Plus, he might not even declare for the 2026 NFL Draft to get even more experience.

However, the tools do look legit. This is going to be a really fun season for the Longhorns and Manning.
