Texas quarterback Arch Manning nearly played a flawless half of football this Saturday against San Jose State. Unfortunately, the second quarter ended on a really awful note.
Manning came into Week 2 with a lot of pressure on his shoulders. The nephew of Eli and Peyton struggled in his season opener against Ohio State, completing 17-of-30 pass attempts for 170 yards with a touchdown and an interception in a 14-7 loss. It was such a disappointing performance that some fans were ready to call him a bust.
After dealing with nonstop criticism for a week, Manning responded by picking apart San Jose State's defense. He had 153 passing yards and four touchdowns in just the first 18 minutes of the game.
The only mistake from Manning came on the Longhorns' final drive of the first half.
Manning had Texas in the red zone with a 28-7 lead when he chucked the football into double coverage. There was pressure in his face when he made this throw.
Although this pass from Manning was intended for Spencer Shannon, it had absolutely no chance. It was intercepted by San Jose State defensive back Jalen Apalit-Williams.
College football fans are convinced this is the worst interception through the first two weeks of the 2025 season.

Obviously, Texas doesn't want Manning committing turnovers in the red zone. What truly matters though is that he gets into a rhythm this Saturday.
So far, we'd say Manning has helped out his confidence with four touchdown passes in the first half.
The second half of the San Jose State-Texas game will resume on ABC.
