Arch Manning Needs to Transfer to Ole Miss

In Arch Manning’s time at Texas, it’s obvious that he isn’t draft-ready and either needs to return or transfer for his senior year. Even with all the hype he’s brought every year, he hasn’t delivered and has fallen out of Heisman talk pretty fast in all three seasons.

With all that has gone wrong for Manning, the consideration of him transferring should gain more buzz. Texas has been a school where quarterbacks go and fail to succeed.

So where should he go?

Well, a school east of the Mississippi River is losing their starting quarterback in Trinidad Chambliss. If you couldn’t guess the school, it’s Ole Miss.

Why Isn’t Texas the Answer

When we look at the last couple of quarterbacks from Texas, none have gone far to succeed in the NFL. Quinn Ewers was the most recent and is currently a backup on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The list keeps going, but Manning is on track to do the same or even be a third-stringer on a team. The struggles for Manning in Austin, Texas show everyone that he’s not ready. Even if he believes he is, his draft stock has plummeted from the day he stepped foot on campus.

Although Texas is a successful program, the fit hasn’t worked for Manning. Going to a place that’s less stressful and a new scene for Manning may be most beneficial for him.

So why is Ole Miss the best fit?

Arch Manning Needs Support

Ole Miss is going to be in need of a quarterback back for next season with Chambliss going to the NFL Draft. So, the addition of Manning makes so much sense. Pete Golding would get another experienced quarterback and could use it as leverage for other portal acquisitions.

Manning needs a place to rebuild and find himself again. Going to the place Eli Manning went is the answer for him. He would step into a competitive atmosphere with the Rebels in the SEC like Texas, but wouldn’t have as much pressure as he does in Texas.

Sure, the fans expect to win. But the fans would take Manning in and make him feel welcome in an environment that can get real loud in big games. The move to Ole Miss feels almost too perfect for Manning.

The only question that remains for Manning is whether he’ll declare for the draft or go back to school for his senior year.
