2026 DE Julian Hugo added his name to the list of fellow recruits in Arizona State’s recruiting class by committing to the Sun Devils today.
At 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, Hugo was sold on Arizona State because of the culture that coach Kenny Dillingham has created, which is based on a belief in team and family.
Hugo posted 83 tackles, 21 tackles for loss and 10 sacks for the Cibolo (TX) Steele Knights, who finished 11-2 in 2024.

The Knights’ defense allowed 21 points per game, but allowed just three points over a three-game stretch against Judson, San Marcos and Canyon, including two shutouts.
In a loss to Austin-Westlake, Hugo posted seven tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. Against Vandegrift, Hugo registered a season-high 10 tackles and one tackle for loss in a losing effort.
Hugo earned District 29- 6A Defensive Player of the Year honors for his efforts.

Hugo is one of five players in ASU’s recruiting class who are Texas natives. He committed to the Sun Devils over schools like the Baylor Bears, Colorado Buffaloes, the Tar Heels of North Carolina and the Utah Utes, among others.
According to On3, Arizona State has the No. 1 recruiting class for 2026 in the Big 12 Conference.
