While not garnering the same attention as Ashton Jeanty, Arizona State Sun Devils star running back Cam Skattebo's NFL Draft stock appears to be on the rise. Skattebo is widely projected to be a Day 3 pick but a strong showing in the College Football Playoff could boost the star's rankings.
The Sun Devils running back posted 16 carries for 170 yards and 3 total touchdowns versus the Iowa State Cyclones to help Arizona State win the Big 12 title. Heading into the College Football Playoff, Skattebo notched 263 carries for 1,568 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2024.
Skattebo has also proved to be impactful in the Sun Devils' passing game, something that is likely appealing to NFL teams. The running back added 37 receptions for 506 yards and 3 TDs through the air this season.
College Football Network's Cam Mellor has the Buffalo Bills selecting Skattebo in the fourth round with the No. 130 overall pick in his latest mock draft. Skattebo would form a running back tandem in Buffalo alongside veteran James Cook.

The Arizona State running back could give Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen another playmaker. Allen continues to be the face of the franchise as the quarterback signed a six-year, $258 million contract that runs through the 2028 season.

“Skatt had zero (FBS) offers and went to Sac State when nobody believed in him. … “Nobody thought he was on an NFL Draft board going into the year. … His belief is what got him here.” pic.twitter.com/AaCfaGyjbg
