Arkansas tight end Ty Washington has announced that he will enter the transfer portal following his redshirt freshman season. When starting tight end Luke Hasz suffered a season ending collarbone injury, Washington was thrust into a starting role and flourished as a quality pass catching option.

He was productive, reeling in 11 receptions for 170 yards and two touchdowns this season. The Leesburg, Georgia native suffered a season-ending injury during the first offensive drive against Florida which caused Sam Pittman to go deeper than intended to to shore up depth at tight end.

Washington came to Arkansas as a 3-star prospect in the 2022 class. He chose the Razorbacks over Cincinnati, UCF, Kansas State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Tennessee, Nebraska and Ole Miss.

On the flip side, the Razorbacks received great news on Wednesday when Hasz announced his return to Arkansas for his sophomore season.

The former Under Armour All-American caught 16 passes for 253 yards and three touchdowns when he went out with the injury. The Bixby, Oklahoma native was on his way to an All-SEC freshman team performance.

Hasz earned John Mackey Tight End of the Week for his Week 4 performance against LSU. He caught six balls for a team high 116 yards and two touchdowns.

Arkansas earned Hasz’ commitment during the summer before his senior year. Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma, and several other top programs were in pursuit of the 6-foot-3, 245 pounder before he pledged to the Razorbacks.
