The 21st annual Pat’s Run has its official race starter, and his presence will activate not only the event but the valley. Arizona State head football coach Kenny Dillingham announced Thursday on the Pat Tillman Foundation X account that he will be the race starter for the Pat’s Run.

Dillingham’s exuberated and high-energy personality will ensure the event starts with a bang. Coming off winning ASU’s first conference championship since 2007, the Big 12 coach of the year is the perfect selection for the Pat’s Run race starter. Now, the question is still out if the 34-year-old’s conditioning is as good as his players during the 4.2 mile race, but Sun Devils fans will find out on April 12th.

In a press release by the Pat Tillman Foundation, Dillingham had this to say about the former ASU linebacker.

“Pat Tillman’s selfless spirit and commitment to service are an inspiration to us all. My family, our team, and our staff are honored to help kick off this amazing event that brings our community together to celebrate his legacy.”
