Auburn Among Highest Average Recruit Rating for 2026 Class

The Auburn Tigers have hit the ground running in the 2026 recruiting class and made an impressive list.

On Tuesday, On3 Sports posted a list of the schools with the 10 highest average recruit ratings for the class. Auburn came in fifth, with an average recruit rating of 90.98.

Auburn has the fourth-highest overall recruiting class for the 2026 cycle and second in the SEC, per On3 Sports. The Tigers have six recruits committed from the class.

The Tigers' class features four-star edge rusher Hezekiah Harris, four-star receiver Devin Carter, four-star linebackers Shadarius Toodle and JaMichael Garrett, four-star receiver Denairius Gray and three-star safety Wayne Henry.

Hugh Freeze enters his third season in charge of the program after a disappointing 5-7 finish in 2024. Freeze took Auburn to the Music City Bowl in 2023 and lost to Maryland 31-13.

Harris, Carter and Toodle are the highest-rated recruits in Auburn's 2026 recruiting class. All three are inside the top 12 at their positions and ranked in the top 100 nationally.

Freeze has not had too much trouble recruiting well since taking the Auburn job in 2023.

His first recruiting class in 2024 featured former five receiver Cam Coleman, former four-star receiver Perry Thompson and former four-star edge rusher Amaris Williams. That class ranked eighth nationally and fifth in the SEC.

Freeze's 2025 class ranks the same as his one in 2024. Auburn's 2025 class is headlined by five-star quarterback Deuce Knight, four-star defensive lineman Malik Autry and four-star edge rusher Jared Smith.

LSU, USC and Oregon are the only schools with higher 2026 recruiting class rankings than Auburn. Oregon also has the most commits from the class, with 10.

Year three of the Freeze era begins on Aug. 30 against Baylor.
