The Wisconsin Badgers have put together a solid 2026 class that recently became larger after adding another commitment to the class.

Donovan Dunmore, a three-star 2026 cornerback, announced that he would flip his commitment from Oregon State to Wisconsin yesterday. Dunmore is a great addition to the class and the Badgers worked diligently to land the flip, which occurred despite suffering a difficult loss on the field to the Maryland Terrapins. After the commitment of Dunmore, however, another program entered the fold and may try to flip a well-known commitment within the Wisconsin class.

Arthur Scott, a three-star defensive lineman from Ohio, was offered a scholarship by the Iowa State Cyclones staff following the Wisconsin loss. Scott is one of two commitments at the position for Wisconsin alongside Djidjou Bah, a fellow three-star recruit who also has programs attempting to flip his commitment. The Badgers may now be in danger of potentially losing both of the current commitments at the position.

The Ohio native previously announced his commitment to Wisconsin in June during a flurry of commitments and plenty of recruiting excitement in Madison. Scott announced his commitment to Wisconsin during his official visit with the program and ultimately chose the Badgers over the Cincinnati Bearcats, the program coach Luke Fickell once led. Ohio has remained a recruiting hot-bed for Fickell despite a change of scenery in Madison, but there are other programs that also view Ohio as the same sort of place.

The Iowa State Cyclones have become a program that has a strong presence as of late within the state of Ohio, landing players like Kuol Kuol II and JJ Jean-Louis. The Cyclones already have commitments from 2026 Ohio recruits Milan Parris and Pete Eglitis, but now aim to add another commitment from the state in the form of Scott.

On the field, Perkins possesses a powerful play-style that would fit into what the Cyclones do on the field very well. The 6-foot-3-inch, 312-pound lineman is versatile on the field and possesses the prototypical build for a defensive tackle that the Cyclones look for. Iowa State recruited two defensive lineman to play tackle and both BJ Carter and Ka’Mori Moore share very similar builds to Scott.

For the Wisconsin Badgers, Scott also fits the same criteria for the position which is something the staff paid plenty of attention to this offseason in particular. Wisconsin entered the 2025 season with nine players along the defensive line who are over 300-pounds after having just a handful the season prior. The Badgers will still carry and recruit a variety of different linemen, but the priority targets will likely be the biggest physically moving forward.

With the loss to Maryland still fresh and rumors of Fickell potentially being fired, plenty of programs will likely follow in the footsteps of the Cyclones and begin to send offers to various Wisconsin commitments.
