2026 recruiting has been generally kind to the Wisconsin Badgers‘ staff, but with losses stacking up and a scoreless streak extended, commitments might walk.
Wisconsin is in the midst of a five-game losing streak where the team has put together just 34 points in three of those losses. The Badgers have not scored in eight quarters and continue to look worse on offense in particular as time progresses. Something needs to change in Madison as pride and fan viewership is dropping quickly right before the eyes of the program.
Recruits, commitments, and other programs have begun to take notice and act accordingly with offers and scheduled visits. Wisconsin could be in danger of losing valuable pieces to a class that is already on the small side of things.
2026 Badgers’ commitments Aden Reeder and Djidjou Bah have both been at the forefront of new pushes to land currently committed talent. Reeder, a three-star linebacker, is one of the longest standing commitments in the 2026 class for Wisconsin. The Ohio native has become a core part of the class, but a number of programs have begun to pursue the recruit.
Reeder picked up offers from Michigan, Northwestern, and Kentucky in a matter of hours. The Wildcats reportedly believe Reeder would be a great addition to round out the 2026 class for the program. Iowa and Minnesota had both previously been interested in the recruit as well and could become programs to watch moving forward. Reeder had taken the time to visit both programs in the past.
For Bah, however, the process has looked far different as the three-star defensive lineman has had a booming recruitment since announcing his commitment to Wisconsin in June. Bah has picked up offers from programs such as Colorado, Nebraska, and Maryland since committing to Wisconsin.
The recruit was recently in attendance for the dramatic 37-0 home loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes and spoke about the experience afterwards. Bah stated, “The game itself was tough though and kind of frustrating to watch. I mean, I’ve got my concerns for sure.”
Bah has been busy since his visit to Madison and next up for the recruit is a visit to Georgia Tech this weekend. The defensive lineman will watch the Yellow Jackets take on Syracuse which gives the recruit a chance to watch some of the best football in the country this season. Bah indicated that he will likely make his way back to Atlanta later on in the season for an official visit.
Hanging onto Bah and Reeder moving forward might be tough for Wisconsin considering the programs involved and the state of football in Madison. Unfortunately for the Badgers’ staff, Bah and Reeder are not the only recruits the program might lose.
Top 2026 commitments Jayden Petit and Amari Latimer have both been tied to new programs in the midst of the Badgers’ losing streak. Petit recently picked up an offer from Washington and the receiver is still a member of the Oklahoma Sooners’ wide receiver board. Wisconsin and 2026 receiver Tayshon Bardo decided to part ways earlier in the month and now could be in danger of losing another receiver.
Latimer has been closely tied to the Ohio State Buckeyes, who recently hosted the running back for a visit. The running back is considered the gem of the 2026 class to the Badgers’ staff and losing Latimer would be a crushing blow. Many fans are convinced Ohio State is just a back-up plan if Coach Luke Fickell were to be fired. Exactly where the running back stands with the program and Fickell will be tested moving forward.
