After a disappointing 2024 season, the TCU Horned Frogs hope to start the season strong as the bid to make a run to Omaha begins.
After finishing ninth in the conference last year, the TCU Horned Frogs baseball team jumps up to a Big 12 preseason rank of No. 3 and sets the sights on an NCAA bid in 2025.
The Big 12 continues to be dominated by No. 1 Oklahoma State, while newcomer and No. 2 Arizona will be a challenge, but the exit of traditional powerhouse teams of Texas and Oklahoma could open the door for a Horned Frog team eager to get back to the top of the conference rankings.
TCU will start in 2025 campaign with a four-game road trip to the University of San Diego to play the talented Toreros. The touted pre-season Second-Team All-American pitcher Austin Smith will certainly pose a challenge for the Horned Frogs and will prepare the team for the Big 12 strong schedule.
A month back in Fort Worth hosting the Michigan Wolverines, Arkansas Razorbacks, Kansas State Wildcats, Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles, Air Force Falcons and Fresno State Bulldogs will prepare the team for a road trip to Lubbock against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
This year’s success will be determined by their young pitching staff as the Big 12 ranks high in the nation in runs per game. Junior Payton Tolle will need to continue his solid mound presence as his team-leading 3.21 ERA and 7-4 record will anchor a young rotation.
