When Bill Belichick first took the job at North Carolina he referenced how special of a place it was because his dad coached there. Now he's making sure that experience extends to his kids.

Per CBS college football reporter Matt Zenitz, the Tar Heels are expected to hire Bill's son, Brian Belichick, as safeties coach.

Noting, "Belichick spent the last nine years with the Patriots, including the last five as safeties coach. Highly respected around the New England building."

A little over a week ago, it was reported that Brian would not be returning to Foxborough on Mike Vrabel's new staff after starting his career with the team as a personnel assistant in 2016, before graduating to coaching assistant and eventually earning his role as safeties coach.

"He just brings a different level of how he sees the game, how he thinks the game," safety Jabrill Peppers said of Belichick last year. "He holds us to a very high standard and has coached a lot of great DBs back there."

Bill's oldest son, Steve, has already signed on in Chapel Hill where he will serve as an assistant coach after working as a defensive coordinator at the University of Washington last season.

One of the reported stipulations of Belichick's hiring at UNC was that he would eventually be able to hand the job down to one of his sons whenever he decides to retire and that appears to already be in motion.

Former versatile Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins is also reportedly set to join Bill's staff where he'll presumably be helping out on the defensive side of the ball.
