As the college football spring transfer window draws to a close, head coach Billy Napier and the Florida Gators received some unfortunate news on Thursday.

Florida had posted back-to-back losing seasons under Napier before finding some success in 2024, winning four-straight to cap off an 8-5 season. It was a much-needed boost to what was becoming a concerning trend for the SEC giant.

As they attempt to keep that momentum rolling into the 2025 season, Napier and his staff are facing some uncertainty due to roster attrition.

On one hand, UF did haul in a top-10 high school class in the 2025 cycle. However, the transfer portal has been a different story.

The Gators lost their 22nd player to the portal on Thursday after former four-star defensive lineman D’Antre Robinson revealed his plans to seek opportunities elsewhere, per Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of 247Sports.

Robinson (6-foot-3, 303 pounds) made an impact as a true freshman last season, logging 11 appearances with one start. He totaled 17 tackles (3 for loss) with 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a quarterback hurry.

The Orlando, Florida, native originally signed with the Gators out of Jones High School as the No. 36 player at his position in the 2024 class (247Sports).

Florida previously lost a pair of talented defensive linemen to transfer in Kelby Collins (Alabama) and Justus Boone (Arkansas).

The Gators had some opportunities to reload in the transfer portal, but Napier and the defensive staff elected to bank on the in-house talent and not add an interior defensive lineman in the 2025 cycle.

Having wrapped up spring practice, Florida will begin preparations for the 2025 season opener at home against Long Island on Aug. 30.
