Earlier this week, Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier secured a visit from four-star edge rusher Luke Wafle. It was a nice coup for the Gators, as he is On3 Sports' top player in the state of New Jersey.
Hosting Wafle this weekend will give the Gators the chance to convince him to come to Florida, but it might be moot. On 3 Sports' Steve Wiltfong reported that Wafle is now down to a top four, and the Gators are not included among those teams.

It's interesting the Wafle agreed to an official visit earlier this week and reports surface that he already has a top four schools. The timing is curious, but things can change rapidly.
On Tuesday afternoon, we learned that Wafle was set to take a visit to USC on June 20th, which would be his fourth official visit. The Gators host Wafle this weekend with Ohio State on May 30th and Penn State on June 6th. The only team that hasn't hosted Wafle in the top four are the Texas Longhorns. They have hosted Wafle four times on unofficial visits, but not an official one as of yet.
As frustrating as it is that this news broke, it's the world of recruiting. Things change on a dime all the time. Remember when Travis Hunter flipped to Jackson State from Florida State in the class of 2022?
Getting Wafle to commit to a visit is the biggest thing for the Gators. Once they get him on campus, it's going to be the biggest factor in trying to get him to include the Gators in his top schools.
Anything can change during the recruiting process, and the Gators are hoping for just that.
