A bizarre rumor about Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning took off on social media this week thanks to some Ole Miss Rebels fans.
An Ole Miss fan posted on a Rebels message board that they were impressed by Manning's performance in the Texas spring game (19-for-26 for 355 yards and three touchdowns). But the fan thought they spotted Manning wearing an earring when he took his helmet off.
That led to some Ole Miss fans pointing out that wearing an earring is very "un-Manning line". And another fan even appeared to take a shot at the city of Austin.
Arch Manning went to #Texas so he could pierce his ears. That’s just the kind of town Austin is. #HookEm pic.twitter.com/BSTl0X9LA0

I watched a few highlights of the Texas spring game on YouTube after I saw that post and I never noticed Manning wearing an earring when he had his helmet off.
Though to be honest, I didn't watch all two hours of the game trying to spot whether or not Manning was wearing an earring. And that's because I couldn't care less if he (or any other person on the planet) was or wasn't wearing one. You do you, Arch. Whether or not he has an earring won't change his performance on the field.
What a bizarre thing to write on a message board. I guess some folks just have more time on their hands than others.
