Okay, so I get that this title might sound like clickbait, but hear us out. A recent graphic from On3’s Ben Golan evaluating Brendan Sorsby’s quarterback play from 2025 hit the X timeline on Tuesday afternoon, and it immediately caught our eyes.
The graphic evaluates quarterbacks in nine areas on a scale of 0-100, and Sorsby was nearing the 100-mark in just about every category. The data points include success rate, EPA lost turnovers, sack rate, rush EPA, pass EPA, late down EPA/play, early down EPA/play, explosive rate, and EPA/play. Check this out.

Now, is it a stretch to say that Sorsby might be the “perfect quarterback”? Probably so, but he could be the perfect quarterback for Texas Tech . Behren Morton was a really good player at times for TTU, but there were some inconsistencies that showed up during his career in Lubbock as well as a troublesome injury history.
Sorsby is one of the toughest quarterbacks in all of college football and has shown the ability to play at an incredibly high level already during his time at Cincinnati. He recorded 12 wins as the Bearcats’ signal caller, and threw for more than 5,600 yards and a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 45-12. He also found paydirt 18 times on the ground which adds another element to Texas Tech’s explosive attack.
Only time will tell if Sorsby lives up to expectations or not, but they are absolutely lofty. If he does, everyone needs to be on the lookout for a serious National Championship contender in Lubbock this fall.
