Brian Kelly Sends LSU Message to Deion Sanders

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has been one of the more outspoken coaches in college football over the years. Sanders has found success on the field, but he also hasn't been shy about making his opinions known.

Sanders recently made waves after saying that he loves the idea of teams squaring off against one another for an official Spring Game. This got many wondering who could play Colorado, and the Buffaloes even had some takers.

"I don’t really want to condone that. I would like to play in the spring. Actually, I (would) like to play against another team in the spring. That’s what I’m trying to do right now.

“To have a competitive (game) against your own guys kind of gets monotonous. You really can’t tell the level of your guys because, you know, it’s the same old, same way. Everybody kind of know each other. Towards the end, I would like to style it like the pros."

One squad that could be very interesting in this idea is the LSU Tigers. LSU head coach Brian Kelly sent a message to Sanders, saying that he would be open to the idea in the future.

“I would be open to it,” Brian Kelly said. “I think there’s — clearly, the calendar dictates a lot of this, right? We work off of an academic calendar relative to recruiting, relative to different schools being on quarters versus being on semesters."

Kelly getting LSU to play in this type of Spring Game would certainly be interesting, but it seems like it could come down the pipeline. The veteran head coach wants his teams to be ready for the season, and doing something like this could make all the difference.
