Michigan Wolverines true freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood entered his collegiate career with as much hype as possible. The five-star recruit from Belleville High School in Michigan was the No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2025, according to 247 Sports . He was thrown into the fire right away for head coach Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines.
Underwood has started all three of Michigan's games thus far and performed up to the expectations set for him.
In Michigan's blowout victory over the Central Michigan Chippewas on Saturday, Underwood was phenomenal in the air and on the ground, leading to an honor from the Big Ten.
On Monday, Michigan announced on its X account that Underwood was presented with Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors for his performance against Central Michigan. This marks Underwood's first honor from the conference of his career.
In the 63-3 win, Underwood went 16-of-25 passing for 235 yards and one touchdown with one interception. He also ran the ball nine times for 114 yards and two scores on the ground. Because of these great stats and Michigan's big victory, it was no surprise that Underwood was presented with this honor.
Through his first three collegiate games, the 6-foot-4, 228-pound dual-threat quarterback has totaled over 700 yards and four touchdowns between throwing and rushing.
Michigan is currently ranked No. 21 in the AP Top 25 with a 2-1 record. Underwood and the Wolverines will head to Memorial Stadium this Saturday to take on the undefeated Nebraska Cornhuskers at 3:30 p.m. ET.
