For the first time in over a decade, BYU wins over the best recruit in the Beehive State.
Brock Harris, a four-star tight end out of Pine View High in St. George, committed to Kalani Sitake and the Cougars this week. The big 6-foot-6 target picked BYU over ten SEC schools, including Georgia, Alabama, and others.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, this is the first time Utah’s consensus No. 1 has landed in Provo since 2012, when Troy Hinds signed with the Cougars. Hinds was a defensive end from Kaysville.
Harris is rated the fifth-best tight end in the country and No. 33 on ESPN's 300 list. He's also currently the second-highest Big 12 commit.
Robert Wright set to transfer to BYU for $3.5 million, per report
Harris’ signing continues a streak of top tight ends going to BYU. "Jackson Bowers signed with the Cougars as a four-star over Alabama. He ultimately transferred this offseason to Oregon State. And Ryner Swanson, who picked BYU over Texas last year, is now serving a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints mission," according to the Tribune.
