The 2026 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and we've got you covered with in-depth scouting reports for all of this year's top prospects.
Utah's Caleb Lomu is one of the top offensive tackle prospects in this year's class, with impressive athletic ability for his towering frame. After a stellar college career, Lomu has positioned himself to be a potential first-round pick in 2026.
Here's everything NFL fans need to know about Lomu heading into this year's draft:
Height: 6-6
Weight: 304
Age: 21
An athletic pass protector, Lomu has the movement skills to handle speed rushers off the edge, and the length/punch to keep power rushers from getting into his frame. His athleticism and intelligence shows through when faced with stunts and twists, as he seamlessly passes off and picks up rushers without getting caught off-balance or a step behind. On the rare occasion he does get beat by an initial pass-rushing move, Lomu has shown the ability to recover quickly, using his physical tools and effort to finish the rep strong and avoid the worst-case scenario. In the run game, Lomu is nimble when climbing to the second level and pulling on counters and screens, and shows the ability to correctly pick out his targets and neutralize them while on the move.
Lomu lacks the mass and power to be a consistent driver in the run game, as his tall and lean frame presents challenges against stout run defenders from a strength and leverage standpoint. He’ll likely need to add some bulk if he wants to develop into a more complete player at the next level, and hold his own against stronger opponents at the point of attack. He shows flashes of polished technique at times, but he still needs to find consistency there, as lapses in footwork and hand placement will get exposed by pro defenders.
He’ll need to improve his technique and bulk up a bit, but Lomu brings physical traits and athletic ability you just can’t teach, and those raw aspects of his game give him unlimited potential. Zone-heavy schemes that prioritize athleticism and movement skills in the trenches will maximize his value out of the gate, but he’ll still need those technical improvements to be a successful starter.
