The college football world was introduced to its newest superstar on Wednesday as Arizona State running back Cameron Skattebo put up nearly 300 all-purpose yards along with two touchdowns in a losing effort vs. Steve Sarkisian's Texas Longhorns.
Afterward, cameras showed Skattebo in a squatting position on the field as he crouched forward and downward lamenting the Sun Devils' close loss to the Longhorns in what could have been a program-defining win at the Peach Bowl College Playoffs quarterfinal game in Atlanta.
Skattebo was consoled by teammates before blowing kisses as he walked off the field. Later, he met up with his father in the stands for a heartwarming embrace that was captured on camera.
"@CamSkattebo8 the proudest dad in the country," Skattebo's father Leonard wrote on X. "#ForksUp," he added with the visage of the ASU Sun Devils logo.

Skattebo became the first FBS/FCS/NFL player this century to record at least 100 rushing yards, 75 receiving yards, a passing touchdown and a two-point conversion in the same game.
He took home Offensive MVP honors for the game in a losing effort, cementing his performance as one of the greatest in a major bowl game and/or College Football Playoff game in recent memory, and leaving fans to ponder what his future holds next season at the running back position.
