The Atlantic Coastal Conference honors dropped on Tuesday with a notable absence under quarterback of the week. Miami Hurricanes starting QB Carson Beck did not get the votes despite leading his squad to a win over No. 6 Notre Dame, but he has the attention of the nation's top quarterback award, the Davey O'Brien.

The Davey O'Brien Foundation revealed its group of "Great 8 " quarterbacks after Week 1 games wrapped up on Monday night and the list includes two ACC signal-callers, but not the one who earned ACC quarterback of the week. Beck earned the nod from the award, as did Florida State's Tommy Castellanos while the QB of the Week, Haynes King of Georgia Tech, was looked over.

To compare Beck's performance against those of his ACC counterparts, the former Georgia Bulldog threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns on 20-for-31 completions. He also took just one sack against the stout Notre Dame defense. In addition to his recognition for the Davey O'Brien, Beck's odds to win the Heisman also saw a boost after Week 1.

For Georgia Tech on Saturday, meanwhile, King went 13-for-20 for 143 yards with no touchdown passes and one sack. However, the agile QB also added 156 rushing yards on 19 carries and he scampered into the endzone three times in the 27-20 win over Colorado.

Castellanos' success this weekend was well-documented as the Seminoles took down No. 8-ranked Alabama in stunning fashion. He threw for 152 yards, went 9-for-14, took one sack, and ran for 78 yards with one rushing touchdown on 16 carries.

Overall, it was a great week for the big-name ACC quarterbacks, with the exception of Clemson star Cade Klubnik. The heralded signal-caller completed just 50% of his passes though he threw for 230 yards on Saturday night against LSU. His single interception and two sacks were critical in the 17-10 matchup that had very little room for error.

Also earning recognition from the Davey O'Brien in Week 1 were Auburn's Jackson Arnold, USF's Byrum Brown, Utah's Devon Dampier, LSU's Garrett Nussmeier, Ohio State's Julian Sayin, and App State's AJ Swann.
