Carson Beck NFL Draft Stock Is A Mystery

April 25, 2026, will be here in the blink of an eye, and his recent college football playoff showing has fans wondering if Carson Beck NFL Draft stock should be bought or sold. It wasn’t long ago that he was considered by some experts as a high first-round pick. Daniel Jeremiah, the draft expert from the NFL Network, compared him to former first overall pick Eli Manning. That was then, and this is now, and it’s hard to know where he could end up when looking over the last three seasons.

Beck spent two freshman seasons and a sophomore season on the bench at Georgia behind Stetson Bennett before getting his shot. He had to be nothing more than a cheerleader and clipboard holder for back-to-back national championships. When he finally did become the Bulldogs’ starter, he did not disappoint. The team went 13-1 in 2023, with their only loss a heartbreaker in the SEC Championship game to Alabama.

Beck finished the season 302 of 417 passing (72.4%) for 3,941 yards, with 24 touchdowns to just six interceptions. His record against ranked teams was just as impressive (5-1, including a 63-3 Bowl victory, 74% completion, 282 yards per game, and 13 touchdowns to just two interceptions), meaning he didn’t pad his stats against powder puff non-conference opponents. 2024 was supposed to be an NFL warmup, but things didn’t play out that way.

The Fall And Rise Of Carson Beck NFL Draft Stock

Beck’s numbers took a significant hit in his second year as a starter. He went 4-2 against ranked teams with a completion percentage of just 60.1%. He did not play in the team’s final game of the season (a 23-10 loss to Notre Dame) due to a shoulder injury, and it appeared he was washed up, and his playing days were pretty much over. There were questions about his ability, but even more detrimental, about his character. He left Athens for a fresh start in Miami.

Beck’s tenure with the Hurricanes has given him a new lease on life. He looks every bit a leader in the huddle, on the sidelines, and in press conferences. His stats are solid as well (73.3% for 3,581 yards, and 29 touchdowns to 11 interceptions). He also looked great against ranked teams again, going 6-0, including playoff wins over Ohio State and Ole Miss. Could he have worked his way back into day one of the 2026 NFL Draft? With a number of teams needing help at quarterback, he could hear his name called earlier than anyone expected a year ago.

End Of My Carson Beck Rant

Beck has prototypical size for the position, and his arm talent is definitely NFL-caliber. The questions about him have mostly been between the ear holes of his helmet. Is he a good teammate, or will he throw his players under the bus when things go bad? Can defenses easily fool him with coverage disguises? Can he protect a lead? When the offensive line breaks down, can he find the right play, or is he going to make a costly mistake?

In 2025, he seems to have answered, or at least quited those questions, but 2025 isn’t all pro scouts will evaluate him on. They are going to watch every snap of his college career. When they do, they will be left with more questions than answers. The combine and pro day workouts will inevitably determine where Beck gets drafted, but at the end of the day, it’s a big gamble that could pay off even bigger for some team.
