The Clemson Tigers added to their 2026 recruiting class on Friday with a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Adam Guthrie.

The 6-foot-7, 280-pound lineman from Washington Court House, Ohio, committed to the University of Clemson over offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas and more.

Guthrie set official visits to Clemson (May 30), Ohio State (June 6) and Penn State (June 13). He was in Clemson on Friday, his second unofficial visit to the school.

“It was a great time,” Guthrie said after the trip. “I fell in love with the place. I loved it all. From the stadium, to the people, the facilities, the way they carry themselves, and how much Clemson fans love their team.”

Guthrie is the sixth commitment to the Tigers' 2026 recruiting class. According to On3, Clemson has the 22nd-ranked class. Guthrie is the highest-ranked player to commit to the school thus far.

The Miami Trace lineman joins quarterback Tait Reynolds, cornerback Shavar Young, offensive tackle Braden Wilmes, tight end Tayveon Wilson and quarterback Brock Bradley as members of Clemson's recruiting class.

Clemson, the 2024 ACC champions, ended last season with a College Football Playoff first-round loss against Texas. Head coach Dabo Swinney enters the 2025 college football season in his 18th year with the Tigers.
