Tayveon Wilson can do a lot of things as an athlete, and that's something Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney certainly appreciates.
Wilson has been a top 2026 target for Swinney and tight ends coach Kyle Richardson, and on Thursday, their pursuit of the 2026 three-star recruit from Huntington, West Virginia, paid off.
Wilson committed to the Tigers over the likes of Penn State, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, but this has been Clemson's recruiting race to lose all along, per 247Sports. The Tigers offered him in mid-June, and Swinney and his Clemson staff told Wilson that he was their top tight end target. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound athlete took multiple visits to Clemson's campus and ultimately, all the Tigers' work on the recruiting trail paid off.
"I'm going to Clemson," Wilson told 247Sports. "The visits really affected my decision because they made it feel like home."
Wilson also liked how Swinney and his staff use tight ends.
"They distribute the ball well to the tight ends," he said. "They've been successful, and I look forward to helping them become more successful in the future."
As mentioned, Wilson is a versatile athlete who can play either receiver or tight end, but Clemson likes him as a tight end. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 44 receiver in the 2026 class, while On3 ranks him as the No. 22 tight end.
Wilson also plays baseball, basketball and track and field, so he's obviously an elite athlete.
