Bowling Green defensive lineman Bam Booker suffered a terrifying injury on Tuesday, falling to the ground motionless after a big hit against Western Michigan before being taken off the field on a stretcher.
Booker was eventually able to give a thumbs-up motion as he was being carted off the field, but not before some scary moments.
The injury took place during a second-quarter kickoff. Western Michigan scored on a six-yard touchdown run from running back Jalen Buckley that gave the Broncos a 7-3 lead.
Western Michigan kicked short on the kickoff, forcing Booker to run up an attempt to field it. But he took a big hit, fumbling as he fell hard to the turf.
"Bam Booker took a brutal hit on the kick return, very serious," noted a Bowling Green football fan account on X. "He is down and has not moved. One of those moments where I have no idea how a team stays locked in, his health is all that matters now"

The Western Michigan defense held tight after the turnover, forcing Bowling Green to punt and then scoring a touchdown on the following drive to take a 10-7 lead.
While Bowling Green did not yet provide an update on Booker's condition, his thumbs-up motion to the crowd as he was being taken off on a stretcher was seen as a positive sign.
