The No. 17 Colorado Buffaloes inched closer to a College Football Playoff spot with a commanding 49-24 win over Utah in Week 12.

Shedeur Sanders threw three touchdowns, Travis Hunter scored a rushing touchdown and boosted his Heisman Trophy campaign, and the Buffs' impressive season added another page to its book.

Both Sanders and Hunter followed Deion Sanders from Jackson State to Colorado. Sanders threw for 3,401 yards with 36 touchdowns at Jackson State, but the former 3-star recruit has been a superstar in Boulder.

It has been the Sanders-Hunter show in Boulder, and it took place once again on Saturday.

In the win, Sanders put his name into college football record books by throwing a touchdown pass in his 46th (!!) consecutive game, as Colorado beat writer Brian Howell of Buff Zone pointed out

The previous record was set by Central Washington's Mike Reilly, Rakeem Cato from Marshall and Bart Williams from Grand Valley State.

That is an impressive feat, especially when you consider that the first college football game was 155 years ago.

To make things more impressive for Sanders, he set a Colorado single-season record with his sixth game throwing for 300 or more yards.

To go one step further, Sanders set another Colorado record by throwing a touchdown in 21 straight games, meaning every game he has played at Colorado has included a touchdown pass.

These records just add to Sanders' incredible season, and there is a reason he has been pegged as the potential first QB taken in the 2025 NFL draft

Sanders threw 27 touchdowns last year at Colorado after transferring from Jackson State. After Week 12, Sanders already has 27 touchdown passes, putting him on pace to shatter last year's numbers.

Sanders is also one touchdown pass away from breaking the Colorado record, as Brian Howell added.

The unreal season for Sanders and the Buffs continues, and Deion Sanders' son has now etched his name into college football history.
