The Buffaloes lost to the Yellow Jackets in a 27-20 thriller to open things up, but it was a good performance overall. It came down to the very end, and overall, it was an even game that went the wrong way, partly because the Buffaloes messed up their final drive.

Meanwhile, Delaware entered life in the FBS world with a 35-17 win over Delaware State. It took a little work over the last 20 minutes to put the game away, but it was a breakthrough victory.

Why Delaware Will Win

Part of the reason for the Colorado loss was late game coaching mismanagement, part of the reason was that Georgia Tech is good, and part of the reason - at least early on - is that something is missing.

Shedeur Sanders was a better college quarterback than he got credit for - at least by everyone but the school that retired his number - and Travis Hunter was Travis Hunter.

If it felt like last week's loss to Georgia Tech was missing that spark that 2 and 12 brought in tight games, you were probably right. It also didn't help that the Colorado run defense couldn't hold up, giving up 320 yards and three scores, but ...

Why Colorado Will Win

The Delaware running game is questionable. The passing attack clicked against Delaware State, but there weren't any gouging runs.

On the other side, the defense struggled against the Hornets. Delaware State ran for 200 yards, hit the Blue Hens with a few big blows, and Colorado has to use this game to get the running backs going.

Colorado vs Delaware Who Will Win

Colorado quarterback Kaidon Salter isn't Shedeur, but he's a good veteran who can move. The offense will get the midrange passing game going, Salter will run for at least 70 yards, and Deion Sanders won't need all of his timeouts.
