Colorado's Taijh Alston declares for 2024 NFL Draft
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Taijh Alston will be one and done at Colorado.

The Buffs defensive end announced he would be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft on Friday. Alston came to Colorado as a graduate transfer from West Virginia earlier this year. He was part of Deion Sanders' surge via the transfer portal, recording 23 tackles (Five for loss), 2.5 sacks and 2 PDUs.

Alston was an original three-star recruit for the Mountaineers. He played 28 total games with 56 total tackles, (15 for loss), eight sacks, and four forced fumbles during his time in Morgantown. He becomes the first CU player with eligibility left to declare for the draft. Not a huge shock considering his position coach, Nick Williams, recently took a similar job at Syracuse.

Colorado needs additional help in the heart of Charles Kelly's defense. Sanders made an exceptional hire by promoting Vincent Dancy as the Buffs defensive ends coach. It's going to be hard without Williams, who was one of the most outspoken coaches on Prime's staff. But Dancy brings experience to the table and won't skip a beat.

Sanders and the Buffs are in the midst of a huge recruiting weekend in Boulder with several visitors tied to the transfer portal.
