Concerning New Details Emerge About Shedeur Sanders’ NFL Combine Behavior

Perhaps more than any other player in the 2025 NFL draft class, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ every move is seemingly subject to criticism.

On Monday, NFL insider Josina Anderson broke the news that one anonymous quarterbacks coach of a team drafting in the top seven walked away from an interview with Sanders labeling him “brash” and “arrogant” — an impression Anderson noted was quite the opposite of the ones Sanders made during his interviews with different media outlets at the combine.

But as it turns out, that anonymous QB coach isn’t the only NFL staff member who walked away from a meeting with Sanders with some concerns.

During Monday’s episode of “The McShay Show,” The Ringer’s NFL draft expert Todd McShay disclosed that he was told by a couple of other team employees who were taken aback by some of Sanders’ behavior.

“The two people that I spoke to were in meetings and had these individual meetings (with Sanders) … teams in the top 10 drafting that need a quarterback,” McShay said. “The two people that I spoke to in these positions left the meeting feeling like Shedeur Sanders was not overly concerned with what they thought of him.

“They had a 15-minute meeting with him, and when they were done, they both said in different ways, different words, that they did not feel like Shedeur Sanders cared all that much about what that organization thought of him.”

While it’s possible Sanders’ alleged behavior is a result of believing he will be long gone before those specific teams are on the clock, it’s not necessarily a given that the 23-year-old signal-caller will be taken in the top 10, or even the first round.

Some scouts reportedly have a second-round grade on the Colorado QB, and some analysts, including NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, had Sanders falling all the way down to the lates 20s in their latest mock drafts.

The Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, who currently pick No. 1, 2 and 3 overall, respectively, all need a QB and have all expressed interest in Sanders, but all three teams have also been fielding phone calls about trading back in the first round as well.

It’s believed that Miami’s Cam Ward will be drafted ahead of Sanders, but with five, possibly six teams drafting in the top 15 needing a passer, it’s difficult to imagine Sanders sliding out of the top 20 picks.
