Congratulations Pour in for Cam Newton After Big Personal News

Cam Newton was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. The former Auburn Tigers star went on to play 11 seasons in the NFL.

He spent all but one season in the NFL as a member of the Panthers, with Newton playing with the New England Patriots for the 2020 season.

Newton has an NFL MVP award, an Associated Press Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year award, three Pro Bowl trips, an All-Pro team nomination and a Super Bowl appearance.

At Auburn, Newton made the All-American team, won the SEC Offensive Player of the Year and won the Heisman trophy in 2010.

In high school, Newton played at Westlake High School in Georgia and was a superstar.

Recently, he received news that he was being inducted into the Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame, and fans congratulated him on the honor.

"Congratulations to former @WestlakeFB1 and @AuburnFootball QB, 2011 NFL Draft No. 1 overall pick and 2015 NFL MVP @CameronNewton on his induction into the 2025 Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame!" the Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame account wrote.

Newton also released a video in the post after hearing the news, calling it "something special."

Morris Mitchell, the current head coach at Westlake, paid tribute to Newton.

"LAKE LEGEND, WE ARE SO PROUD OF ALL THAT YOU ARE TO THE WORLD. @CameronNewton@RecruitWestlake" Mitchell wrote.

The Rivals High School account also posted a clapping emoji congratulating Kirby Smart and Newton.

"Cam Newton and Kirby Smart headline Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025. "

"Congratulations to the 2025 Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame class. Kirby Smart, Cam Newton, Carlos Rogers, Isaiah Crowell, Josh Nesbitt and more!" Jack Gallagher of the Score Atlanta sports marketing agency wrote on X.

The Auburn football account sent a congratulations message also.

"AUsome," an Auburn fan replied with a blue and orange heart.

Several fans also replied with clapping emojis as Auburn posted it on its Instagram page.

Newton's senior year at Westlake consisted of 1,400 yards and 1,000 yards on the ground, leading him ot be a highly-coveted five-star recruit that led him to Florida initially before transferring to Auburn.

Now, Newton receives a major honor in the state of Georgia and is part of a class that includes Georgia Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart.
