UC football's top offensive weapon is returning in 2024. running back Corey Kiner made a formal announcement he's coming back for his senior college season.
It's no surprise to see him return after describing how much it means to have his family at games as a Cincinnati native and the fact that he would've needed a waiver to transfer again after leaving LSU last year.
Kiner is the 13th UC player to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards in a season at UC and the first to do it since Jerome Ford ran for over 1,300 yards en route to the College Football Playoff. The Cincinnati native has averaged over five yards per carry all season and that rolled on against Kansas.
He ended the campaign with 1,047 carries on 5.5 YPC to go with five rushing touchdowns.
Cincinnati's top strength this past season was the run game and Kiner cemented that as the team's second-highest graded offensive player on PFF (81.4 overall). He should be a strong candidate to hit 1,000-plus yards again next season.
