What do you get when one of sports’ most magnetic figures lets the cameras all the way in? For Coach Prime, the answer is raw, real, and unapologetically Deion.
Deion Sanders — Hall of Famer, two-sport marvel, and now the head coach reshaping the Colorado Buffaloes — is taking his story to the global stage with a three-part Netflix docuseries Prime Time, premiering in 2026. The series promises a rare look behind the sunglasses, into the life of a man who turned highlight reels into scripture.
“Guess what? I heard a rumor. I ain’t one for rumor, but I heard a rumor. Prime Time is going prime time on Netflix in 2026. Ok, now give me my theme music,” Sanders teased, true to form, in his announcement.
We can confirm that the rumors are true...

Buffs fans already know: Deion is more than a coach. He’s a movement. Since arriving in Boulder in December 2022, Sanders has elevated a 1–11 team to the national conversation, leading the Buffs to a 4–8 record in his first season — a massive jump in visibility, ticket sales, and recruiting power. His son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, became a household name while Travis Hunter stunned fans by starring on both sides of the ball.
But Prime Time goes deeper. The documentary chronicles Sanders’ rise from “Prime Time” to “Coach Prime,” highlighting his iconic dual-sport days — the only athlete ever to hit a MLB home run and score an NFL touchdown in the same week — and revealing the hidden battles most never saw.
“I was PRIME TIME, then I dropped the TIME and went by PRIME, and now I’m in the third quarter of my life and they call me COACH PRIME,” Sanders says in the trailer. “Y’all knew a part of me each step of the way, but you never knew DEION.”
Produced by SMAC Entertainment, Skydance Sports, and NFL Films, the docuseries will explore Sanders’ complicated family past, mental health journey, and recent health scares — not just the wins, but the wounds too.
Buffs Nation, mark your calendars and prepare to see your coach like never before. Whether you bleed black and gold or just admire greatness, Prime Time is must-watch.
