The Sanders family has always been a collection of great athletes, but they continue to grow as a football dynasty living under the bright lights in the game of football. With Deion Sanders in charge of the Colorado football program, in his third season, both his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, have followed in his footsteps, carrying the pride of pressure of the Sanders name.

But the start of the 2025 football season has not been an easy one for the Sanders men. The Buffaloes opened the season with a home loss to Georgia Tech. Shilo saw his NFL hopes take a major hit when he was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, following an ejection in the final preseason game.

Shedeur is with the Cleveland Browns, but the news came down recently that he will start the regular season as the third-string quarterback, behind starter Joe Flacco and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.

But, during these struggles, it was Shedeur that stepped up to remind his family of their resilience, sending a pointed but uplifting message in a family group chat.

The message was shared by Deion during his "Coach Prime's Playbook" podcast with Romi Bean.

The message given from the rookie quarterback: "As SANDERS MEN, we have to regroup."

Shedeur, the former Colorado star quarterback, understood the weight of the moment. His text wasn’t just about football; it was about the identity of the family. The Sanders family has always been known for its toughness, unity and perseverance in tough situations, and Shedeur’s message showed how important it was to stay locked in.

Also in the podcast, Deion discussed his son’s powerful message. He explained that Shedeur’s words came from a place of leadership, both as a quarterback and as a younger brother rallying his family. Deion noted that while losses and mistakes are part of the game, what defines the Sanders family is their ability to respond.

“That’s what I love about Shedeur,” Deion said. “He sees the big picture. He knows we don’t have time to dwell, we regroup, we adjust, and we move forward. That’s what being a Sanders man is about.”

With Colorado looking to bounce back from a rough opener, as it hosts Delaware on Saturday, and Shilo working to keep his NFL dreams alive, the Sanders men are once again leaning on one another to write their next chapter.
