Someone needs to check if Deion Sanders has a secret stash of unused timeouts hiding somewhere in his basement.
The Colorado head coach was widely panned Saturday for his bizarre clock management methods in his team’s loss to BYU at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colo. Fans started asking questions midway through the fourth quarter with the Buffaloes trailing 24-21.
Facing 3rd-and-6 at its own 41, Colorado burned a timeout to talk things over. But instead of going for it like most expected them to, the Buffaloes simply punted, thereby wasting a timeout for no reason in particular. At worst, Colorado could have taken the delay of game penalty rather than burn a timeout.
Colorado was able to force a punt and regained possession with 1:34 left. Rather than use one of his two timeouts, Sanders opted to let the drive play out without stopping the clock. The game ended after Buffaloes quarterback Kaidon Salter gave up an interception with 50 seconds left.

Several fans slammed Sanders for his poor clock management.
Deion Sanders might be the worst clock management coach I've ever seen.

Deion Sanders clock managment might be worse than Kyle Shanahan's which is saying something!! ANOTHER WEEK where he takes 2 timeouts with him in a LOSS!! Game sealing INT because he refused to call a timeout. Coach Prime got no clue how to manage a clock.

Deion Sanders is a legend, but he’s so bad with clock management. It’s painful to watch.

It’s not the first time fans have called out Sanders over his imprudent clock management. Colorado lost in similar fashion during its season opener against Georgia Tech.
Just like on Saturday, Coach Prime kept two timeouts in his pocket late in the fourth quarter against the Yellow Jackets. The Buffaloes ran out of time to get downfield in the 27-20 loss.
