Deion Sanders, Colorado Make History On Early Signing Day

The Colorado Buffaloes ended the regular season with a 9-3 record and just outside of earning a spot in the Big 12 Conference title game. 

The Buffs finished with a strong 52-0 win over Oklahoma State in Boulder in the final home game for quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter. 

On Wednesday, Early Signing Day kicked off in college football, and the Buffs were active as can be signing players who had previously announced their commitments to the program. 

On Thanksgiving Night, Colorado even received four commitments in the span of one hour, so the future looks bright for Deion Sanders and his program. 

On Wednesday, five-star quarterback and former USC commit Julian Lewis made it official by putting pen to paper with Colorado. 

As a result, Colorado made history in the process, per Rivals. 

"JULIAN LEWIS HAS OFFICIALLY SIGNED WITH COLORADO COACH PRIME LANDS THE HIGHEST RANKED RECRUIT IN COLORADO HISTORY." 

After Lewis backed out of his USC commitment, all the signs pointed to Colorado as his next landing spot, and it ended up happening shortly after

Now, Colorado makes history by landing the highest-ranked recruit in the history of the program. 

Lewis is the No. 2 recruit in ESPN's rankings, and the signal-caller from Carrolton High School in Georgia is ranked as the No. 6 player in the class by Rivals

Some of the other top recruits by Colorado include RB Darrell Scott, CB Cormani McClain, RB Marcus Houston, OT Jordan Seaton and OL Ryan Miller. 

Lewis is a huge get for Colorado, and he was originally slated as the top recruit in the Class of 2026 before reclassifying to the Class of 2025.
