Deion Sanders, Colorado Receive Unfortunate Injury News Before Iowa State Game

The Colorado Buffaloes, led by head coach Deion Sanders, have not had the start to their 2025 season that they were hoping for. Colorado is 2-4 through its first six games, including back-to-back losses to the BYU Cougars and TCU Horned Frogs in the past two weeks.

Colorado's offense has not been up to par, as the Buffaloes have not scored more than 21 points in any of their games this year. Starting quarterback Kaidon Salter has played well, completing 65.8% of his passes for 901 yards and seven touchdowns with four interceptions, but Colorado's running game hasn't been potent.

Ahead of Saturday's matchup against the No. 22 Iowa State Cyclones, Sanders and his team received some concerning updates.

On Wednesday, Colorado and Iowa State released their initial injury reports for this weekend, and a slew of Buffaloes players were on the list.

Colorado listed 12 players as "out," four as "doubtful," three as "questionable," and two as "probable" for Saturday's game. The number of players is concerning for a Colorado team that is trying to turn around its season.

One of the more notable players on this list is running back Simeon Price, who will not play Saturday. He had been Colorado's backup running back this season before injuring his ankle against the Wyoming Cowboys on Sept. 20. In four games, Price has had 21 carries for 143 yards and one touchdown. His 6.8 yards per carry are the most of any Colorado running back.

Another big name on the injury report is senior defensive end Arden Walker, who is listed as questionable. Walker is one of Colorado's top defensive players, as he is second on the team with 1.5 sacks. He also has 27 total tackles and 2.5 tackles-for-loss.

With the team's struggles so far this season, Sanders and Colorado will have to overcome some obstacles if they want to get back on track against Iowa State. Saturday's game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
