Deion Sanders welcomed another visitor to his Texas estate as he continues to deal with an unknown health issue. The Colorado Buffaloes coach had his "son," Adam 'Pacman' Jones, drop in on Wednesday to check on him. Coach Prime took to social media with gratitude for the visit.
"God is so Good, another 1 of my sons came to see me and make certain I’m straight," Sanders wrote on Instagram. "He also wanted to fish so I was his guide today. Thank u my brother u gave me energy. @realpacman24"
Sanders, 57, had dealt with numerous health concerns over the past five years. His separate bouts with blood clots have been well-documented, leading to the amputation of two toes on his left foot at Jackson State in 2021. He underwent several surgeries after developing a femoral arterial blood clot. Sanders also had compartment syndrome, where his leg swelled up, and doctors had to flay open his leg to drain fluid.
It's unknown if Sanders' current health complications are related to previous ones or not. He has been away from Boulder for the past two months and there's no timetable on his return. This has forced him to miss contractually obligated events for Colorado. Travis Hunter and Michael Irvin have also made separate trips to see Sanders, adding to the intrigue of his situation.
Sanders first hinted at suffering a health setback in May while on a podcast appearance with former NFL All-Pro Asante Samuel. "I've done no media. I've done nothing for a minute, Sanders admitted. "So coming on with you is something. I ain't been in front of nobody for a minute. I lost about 14 pounds. I'm coming back, but I needed this." He later confirmed that he was sidelined and would tell the world his status upon his return to Boulder.
Despite the concerns, Sanders recently signed a five-year, $54 million extension with Colorado. He became the highest-paid coach in the Big 12 conference. The Buffaloes open the 2025 season against Georgia Tech on Friday, August 29 (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).
