Another disappointing campaign could intensify speculation about Deion Sanders’ future, with some already wondering whether this could become Coach Prime’s final season in Boulder — or even lead to a midseason firing if things spiral.

The pressure on the Colorado Buffaloes football is enormous, and the situation has become even more complicated after the loss of Jordan Seaton. His presence had given Sanders confidence in the offensive line, but now the talented offensive tackle is at LSU, where Lane Kiffin reportedly showed massive trust in him through a $4 million commitment—an indirect reminder of what Colorado let slip away.

That departure has left a major concern, and analyst RJ Young recently offered advice that many believe Sanders should seriously consider.

Young said, “I think you’re going to see that become an even bigger deal as the numbers continue to go up and as I think you’re going to see lower levels of college football. Develop great talent and demand a fair fee. So, if you are able to go recruit a player, develop a player for, let’s say, $50,000, somebody’s going to pay you half a million dollars to let that tra that contract a player out of its contract into the transfer portal.”

“You just made money. And that’s how a lot of programs I think are going to be able to function playing football. What that’s going to change though is whether or not you’re playing for championships.” RJ added

For Deion Sanders, acting quickly to stabilize the offensive tackle situation now feels essential. Because no matter how explosive the roster looks elsewhere, protecting the quarterback and controlling the line of scrimmage remain the foundation of winning football.

Deion Sanders Holds a Powerful Answer to Jordan Seaton’s Exit for Lane Kiffin

There’s no doubt that losing Jordan Seaton will hurt the Colorado Buffaloes football team. His departure leaves a noticeable gap on the offensive line, especially given how important he was expected to be to the program’s future. But that doesn’t mean Colorado suddenly lacks talent up front.

Deion Sanders still has several options within the roster, and one name drawing significant attention is Chauncey Gooden. The 6-foot-3 athlete has already turned heads during spring practice, and expectations around him continue to grow inside the program.

Whether Colorado’s offensive setup can truly become better than what Lane Kiffin is building elsewhere remains difficult to say. However, with Brennan Marion now helping shape the offense, there’s a growing belief that players like Gooden could develop into something even more impactful than many initially expected.

Colorado may have lost a major piece, but the belief inside Boulder is that the story of their offensive line is far from finished.
