Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is one of the top prospects heading into the 2025 NFL Draft.

He's arguably the top quarterback available in the draft and is expected to be drafted in the top five of the first round.

Some teams in the top five need a new quarterback, including the Cleveland Browns, but Deion Sanders, Shedeur's dad, has already talked to a few teams that he may have concerns about if they draft Shedeur.

"There's a lot of teams that I prefer he didn't play for," Sanders told Dan Patrick on the "Dan Patrick Show." "It's like saying aren't there teams that you don't want to watch? ... There's teams I didn't want to play for. So, why wouldn't I want my kids? No, come on man. I'm a dad, I'm a real dad that has a lot of information about the NFL. I know some folks who know some folks, who know some folks and I know what's behind the curtain. I'm gonna lead them in the right direction."

"I would meet with them (the teams interested in Shedeur) privately and talk about my concerns so we could have an understanding."

Patrick then asked if that process had happened already and Sanders confirmed that it had. He also stated that he has talked with a few teams that he has concerns about for Shedeur.

Sanders didn't name the teams he talked with but he's trying to look out for Shedeur, making sure he goes into a good situation. He's coached him throughout his life, including these last two seasons at Colorado.

Sanders was one of the top quarterbacks in the country during the 2024 season, finishing with 4,134 yards through the air, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

He finished eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting but to see his fellow star teammate, Travis Hunter, win the Heisman after beating out Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.

Hunter is expected to join Sanders and be selected in the top five of this year's NFL Draft in April.
