Deion Sanders Makes Suprise Admission About Shedeur Sanders' Academic Career at Colorado

Deion Sanders led a big turnaround over the last two seasons at Colorado, helping the Buffaloes reach their highest win total in nearly a decade and a trip to the Alamo Bowl.

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Deion's son, was a big part of that turnaround as he showed steady improvement and ended the season as one of the top quarterback prospects for the 2025 NFL draft.

But while Shedeur Sanders made a big impact on the field, his father revealed there was one place he didn't have any presence -- inside the classroom. Deion Sanders said the team's star players, including Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, took all of their classes virtually while practicing and traveling with the football team.

"Ain't none of them on campus because things have changed," Sanders said in an appearance on the "Million Dollaz Worth of Game" podcast. "Everybody is taking classes online and they graduate. Shedeur has never taken a class on campus in his whole college career. Shilo [Sanders] may have at South Carolina but I don't remember Travis [Hunter] ever being on campus as well. So they missed a whole part of the collegiate experience. But to each his own."

While the football players may have missed out on the classroom experience, they still managed to perform well academically. Colorado director of player personnel James Cheney revealed that the Buffaloes football team earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 under Sanders, the first time in program history they achieved that mark.

Shedeur Sanders also didn't seem to have any academic problems at Colorado. Earlier in the season, he took to X to say he would be graduating early.
