Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders could be looking for his next big hire.
After adding Pro Football Hall-of-Famers Warren Sapp and Marshall Faulk, along with a few other former NFL talents, one of Coach Prime's coaching mentors could be reunited with him soon.
Mike Zimmer was spotted at practice in Boulder this week. The Former Minnesota Vikings head coach and longtime NFL defensive coordinator was decked out in full CU gear, alongside Sanders and others.
Zimmer was an analyst on Prime's original Colorado before becoming the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator last year. He was let go after Mike McCarthy was fired following a 7-10 season in the 'Big D'.

Sanders and Zimmer have a history with each other going back to the 90s. He was Sanders' defensive backs coach for the Cowboys during the Super Bowl run in 1995. Since then, they've kept a tight relationship with Sanders always keeping the door open for Zimmer.

Coach Prime already has over 150 years of NFL experience on his entire staff, including time spent directly with the league.

Zimmer would push that closer to two centuries worth with 28 years of experience. Not bad for a college staff with one of the most forward-NFL approaches. Zimmer led the Vikings to an NFL Championship appearance in 2017 with a fire-power offensive attack. He ended his run in Minneapolis with a 74-59-1 record.
