One of the growing storylines ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft, which begins on April 14, is where Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders’ sons, Shedeur and Shilo, will land—despite being on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to draft projections.

Shedeur is expected to be the second quarterback taken off the board, which could mean he goes as high as No. 2 to the Washington Commanders or possibly as low as No. 21 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, it’s highly unlikely he falls any further than that.

Shilo, on the other hand, faces a more uncertain path. He’s projected as a Day 3 pick—if selected at all—and could end up signing as an undrafted free agent.

Nonetheless, Deion Sanders opened up during an exclusive interview with TODAY.com, revealing his heartfelt “wish” for his sons on draft night when asked if he had an ideal landing spot in mind for either one.

"First and foremost, I wish they could go together," Deion Sanders said. "That would be great. Secondly, I want them to go to a city that understands who they are and what they bring to the table. A city that they could just be themselves unapologetically. Because I know my kids, they’re not taught to front or fake or be something that they’re not. So I want them to be somewhere where it’s understandable who they are and it’s accepted. And appreciated that they keep it a buck."

"There was a lot of talk this offseason about Deion Sanders potentially making the jump to the NFL with the intention of continuing to coach his sons, just as he did at Jackson State and Colorado. But Sanders made it clear he was never going anywhere—he loves where he is in Boulder.

"I told them I wasn’t going nowhere," Sanders added in the interview. "They just thought I was lying. ... But I love this city, I love this college. I love everything about these young men in this building, and women. I wanted to stay to build something. I didn’t want to go somewhere and inherit success. I wanted to build it and shape it and change it and cultivate it so people would understand what success truly is. So that’s why I chose to stay here for the next five years and to do something spectacular and tremendous, because the city deserves it."
