Deion Sanders says top recruits are blowing up his phone: 'Trust me, those guys are coming'

Head coach Deion Sanders has already done a ton to change the perception of Colorado football.

He has his team at 2-0 coming off a win over last season's national champion runner-up, TCU, and a victory over massive rival, Nebraska.

The hype is real so far in Boulder, but arguably, coach Prime's biggest impact won't be felt immediately for the Buffaloes. He's proved to be a good coach, but where Sanders really shines is on the recruiting trail.

He brought several star players to Colorado last recruiting cycle, and as far as the future is concerned, Sanders recently revealed that his phone number has been getting a ton of dials.

Sanders was discussing his offensive line and the fact that the Buffs have given up 12 sacks in just two games. He's done a great job getting skill players to Colorado, but can he and his staff improve when it comes to the trenches?

“Obviously when you have a coach that played defensive back your attractability is skill positions, so we don’t have a tremendous problem getting those bigs,” Sanders explained, per On3. “I think we have a tremendous rotation of bigs right now, offense and defensive line. You haven’t seen the offensive line as of yet because the solid five has been in there, but now we have the sixth going in at center.”

That conversation transitioned into the state of Colorado's group of "bigs" moving forward.

"Trust me, those guys are coming. They’re coming,” Sanders said. “We’re receiving so many calls at this point right now it’s absurd. Just inquiring about what we do and how we do what we do and visitation. Desiring to come on an unofficial or official visit. So I’m liking where we are right now, I’m truly liking that.”

Case in point, four-star offensive lineman Jordan Seaton recently said that Colorado is a major option in his recruitment, just because of Sanders. In fact, coming off a trip to Alabama, he's visiting Colorado this weekend.

That's the type of sway Prime has right now. He's competing with the likes of Nick Saban for top recruits.

The amount of wins may not be there yet to put Sanders on Saban's level, but the hype certainly is.
