With the top half of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft now set, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has an idea of which teams are in a position to draft his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders. And as he's previously alluded to, there are some places he doesn't want Shedeur to go.
In a recent interview with Tamron Hall, Sanders made it clear that while he doesn't have a specific preference on where Shedeur does play, he has made it clear that there are some teams that he "won't allow" Shedeur to play for.
“It’s not like that,” Sanders said, via USA Today. “It’s not like who I would like for him to play for. It’s a couple of teams that I won’t allow him to play for. So it’s not like that. But this is my profession. I know what’s behind the curtain. We ain’t got to get back there for me to understand what’s behind the curtain and what’s not prominent for my son. I’m not doing it.”

That's a bit of a distinction without a difference as Coach Prime could say that there are 31 teams that he won't allow Shedeur to play for. But the chances are it won't be as dramatic as that.
Shedeur Sanders has emerged as one of the top two quarterback prospects in the NFL Draft. And while neither he nor Miami quarterback Cam Ward are considered can't-miss prospects, both of them are lucky enough to be the top prospects in a year where about half of the teams drafting in the top 10 are in desperate need of a quarterback.
As it stands, the Tennessee Titans hold the No. 1 overall pick and just so happen to be one of those teams in dire need of a new signal caller.
There's some speculation that Deion and Shedeur Sanders would refuse to play for the Titans since they play in one of the NFL's smaller football markets. But it might not even matter as there's also wide speculation that Ward suits head coach Brian Callahan better anyway.
That could leave either the Cleveland Browns (No. 2) or the New York Giants (No. 3) in the best position to draft Shedeur. It's possibly that one of those teams could rank among the ones that Coach Prime won't allow Shedeur to play for.
It's been 21 years since Eli Manning infamously refused to play for the San Diego Chargers and forced a trade to the New York Giants. Could we see the Sanders family pull a similar move this April?
