The Michigan Wolverines are taking the lead for blue-chip, four-star receiver Quentin Burrell. While Sherrone Moore has made it a priority to upgrade the firepower around star freshman Bryce Underwood, it's not common to build a quick rapport with a recruit who is so willing to speak as highly about his program as anyone currently enrolled.
But that's what makes Burrell a potential perfect fit in the 2027 class. The Chicago native told Rivals just how much he's been impressed with Moore's Wolverines.
“Elite in everything they do,” Burrell said. “On and off the field. Only a few schools have best of both and Michigan is one of them.”
While Notre Dame and Penn State are chasing, Burrell's sister is already in Ann Arbor as a student. It's not far-fetched that the family is creating a legacy line at Michigan. He expanded on what he needs to see in his upcoming visit on Oct. 4 against Wisconsin.
“Want to see what the Big House is all about and see how Coach (Ron) Bellamy gets his guys ready to compete. Also, see how new offense looks.”
The nation's No. 8 receiver will be visiting Penn State and Notre Dame this fall, and there are a few fringe contenders like Missouri lurking. But the 43rd overall prospect doesn't seem interested in a giant net of recruiting visits. After turning in 75 receptions for 1,257 yards, and 18 touchdowns, the state champion is also a top-tier student.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder boasts a 3.93 GPA, making him an ideal candidate for any coaching staff looking for a reliable person. He's visited Notre Dame three times, Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State, and Penn State once each.
