It may not have been his most memorable performance as an Ohio State Buckeye but Emeka Egbuka's name will live on forever in OSU's record books after Monday night.

The senior wide receiver recorded six catches for 64 yards in the Buckeyes' national championship win over Notre Dame — which was enough to give Egbuka an honorable distinction among the school's greats.

With his 205 career grabs Egbuka is now Ohio State 's all-time receptions leader. Passing the likes of KJ Hill, David Boston, Chris Olave, Cris Carter, Michael Jenkins and Marvin Harrison Jr.

The future first-round pick capped his Columbus career with 81 receptions, 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns as the Buckeyes' second-leading receiver.

His veteran presence in the slot was vital to Ryan Day and Chip Kelly's offense and helped open things up for superstar freshman Jeremiah Smith on the outside.

Not to mention his outstanding blocking for guys like TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins who combined for 2,076 yards and 24 touchdowns in Ohio State's backfield.

This season's production also saw Egbuka become the first OSU receiver to record two 1,000-yard seasons — on his way to being a national champion.

"Those are my brothers for life and we can be proud of what we did at this university," Egbuka told NBC of his team following the game. "The stuff that we've been through as a senior class— man, it just gets me emotional thinking about it. But we're going to celebrate this for years to come."

Congrats to Emeka on an outstanding college career and we look forward to watching him compete on Sundays!
