ESPN named Kalen DeBoer as a potential candidate for the now-open Michigan head football coaching job.
The Wolverines fired Sherrone Moore ‘with cause’ on Wednesday evening.
ESPN writers Eli Lederman, Max Olson and Adam Rittenberg teamed up to lay out why DeBoer is a potential candidate for the job opening.
“DeBoer was never going to Happy Valley, but Ann Arbor?” the article read. “He might have to think about it, especially if Alabama makes an early exit in the CFP. DeBoer, 51, likely would have been a top candidate for Michigan if Harbaugh had left a bit earlier.”
DeBoer recently responded to being linked to the Penn State job opening.
“There’s never been any link,” DeBoer said when asked about rumors of him leaving for Penn State. “There’s never been any conversation. There’s never been any interest either way. And I’m so glad we can put that to bed right now.”
DeBoer has the second-highest odds to be the next head coach for the Wolverines at +475, according to Bookies.com
